Father’s day

As we celebrated Father’s day I am so thankful that God blessed me with the Dad I have. My Dad has always taught my siblings and I to be tough and to work hard. He is a army vet and served our country well. He has lost the use of his legs three years ago and is confined to a wheelchair but I still admire that strength he shows every day. He got saved and baptized many years ago and I am thankful to God that he lives for our Savior now.

Today we also worshipped our Father in Heaven who created us all.

Matthew 23:9 – And call no [man] your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

God loves us so much that he gave his Son Jesus Christ to die for our Sins! That is a everlasting love.

1 Corinthians 8:6 – But to us [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things, and we by him.

Are you too tired for God?

Have you ever had those days that you want to read and study your bible but you find yourself falling asleep as soon as you read the first verse?

The start of the day you are just waking up and too sleepy to pray? After a long day at work do you feel so tired you can’t do bible study? On Sunday morning do you feel so tired and drained you just stay in bed and miss church?

We have all had those moments, especially me!! I start my morning off with prayer and I struggle let me tell you. I have literally been so tired from work while studying my bible I have fell asleep while reading it with my head propped up on my hand!

God knows we get tired.

Matthew 11:28-30 King James Version (KJV)

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

God can help us through those times when we are so tired we are barely putting one foot in front of the other. Don’t beat yourself up over giving into the fatigue because we all have to rest even Jesus did.

God rested on the seventh day after his work.

Genesis 2:2-3 (KJV)

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Exodus 20:8-10 King James Version (KJV)

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

Money trouble

I grew up poor and value money. I will shop for sales and discounts all the time. I am really not one to spend a fortune on anything. I wish I had more money to spend on a lot of things in life. I guess we all wish that we had that bigger house, that new car, an extravagant vacation and so many other things.

I worry a lot about money too. There are so many reasons in life to make you worry. Bills never stop coming in which my dear Mother told me one time that even when we die we are still going to have bills so no need to worry about them. We have to have food on the table and gas in our cars. The list goes on and on.

As I was reading the bible tonight this chapter and verses spoke to me!

1 Timothy 6:7-10 KJV

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows

The next time money troubles comes your way, just remember God will take care of us.

Discouraged

Have you ever been so discouraged about things in your life it weighed heavy on your heart? Today being in pain from the fibromyalgia that I have made me feel rough and that led me to feel discouraged about all the things which as going wrong. Our vehicles had different problems and we are still paying on them. Appliances going out and so many other things.

As I drove home from work it all hit me that everything that I mentioned was just material things! After praying to God about all of it I seen the most beautiful sky with a cloud with the Sun behind it with rays coming down and my discouragement left me. It was like God was telling me it’s all going to be okay.

So when you are feeling discouraged go to God. Psalm 34:17The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.”

Church Family

The devil knows how to get to us on a Sunday morning by putting obstacles in our way to make us feel like we want to just stay home. You might feel tired, sick, irritated and the list could go in. We can’t give into it and we have to push through. I felt so much better when I made it to church this morning and tonight. Worshipping my Lord and savior above all is the best feeling in the world. Our Pastor delivering the message that God wants us to hear and being with my church family is the best!

1 Corinthians 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

Struggling with your past

The past sometimes will not leave us alone even when we are Christians. Sometimes it is easier said then done when leaving the past behind us. Satan always tends to bring it up to us over and over in our walk with Christ. The bible tells us in Isaiah 43:18 “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old”

Always remember that when you became saved that Jesus covered you with his blood and made you new. All your sins of the past have been wiped away and forgiven. When your past haunts you stop what you are doing and pray to God about it and he will help you to remember that you are a new person and not that old person you were in your past. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
