God is there when you are confused.

I had a friend ask me today if I ever get confused on what to do. I told her I do and I pray to God about it. I told her he will lead her in the right decision to make. So I am asking you today have you ever been confused, unsure or undecided on what to do in your life? Here are some scripture that can show you how God is there to help us.

1 Corinthians 14:33

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints

2 Timothy 2:7 – Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.

1 John 4:1 – Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

1 Peter 5:8 – Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Psalms 119:125 – I [am] thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know

2 Corinthians 4:8 – [We are] troubled on every side, yet not distressed; [we are] perplexed, but not in despair;

Psalms 119:34 – Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with [my] whole heart.

Psalms 32:8 – I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Satan will hit us at every angle making us confused in the things we think, the things we know and God’s will for our lives. When I am undecided about something in my life or have to make a huge decision it will make me at times feel like I am sick to my stomach because of the worry. When I feel that way I turn it over to God and he gives me a feeling of relief of a heavy burden. When you feel that struggle within yourself over a tough decision in your life, turn it over to God.

Doubting our salvation

Have you ever had doubts about your salvation? I have had those doubts especially when evil or fear was trying to get at me. Sometimes depression in Christians will cause us to doubt our salvation. I remember hearing about someone who would get baptized over and over again because they thought they were not saved. Sadly they didnt understand that baptizing isnt what saves them.

The bible tell us
Ephesians 2:8 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

Did you know Charles Spurgeon had doubts at times? He said “must confess here, with sorrow, that I have seasons of despondency and depression of spirit, which I trust none of you are called to suffer, and at such times I have doubted my interest in Christ, my calling my election, my perseverance, my Savior’s blood, and my Father’s love”

I think we all have these doubts when we are going through something in our lives or people can cause you to doubt and be confused. I remember walking down the aisle of a church at a revival when I was a teen and they confused me and put me on the spot with a microphone in front of a huge audience. That had me confused for a long time till God helped me to remember when I actually did trust upon him and was saved before that happened at church. When you have those doubts pray to the Lord and study his word.

John 3:16-18 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life

John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Matthew 7:21 – Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven

Romans 10:9 – That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Hope we have after death

My mind has been on death alot lately since my sweet Mother passed away April 30th.  Her death was unexpected. She was getting better from a problem with her diabetes and was to be discharged from the hospital and stopped breathing. I know our Savior Jesus Christ welcomed her in Heaven.  I was filled with so much guilt and grief at first but God gave me peace also in knowing she was home with him.

Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We all have to die but God’s word gives us strength as christians to know that we will be with him.

John 11:26 – And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

1 Thessalonians 4:13 – But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

1 Thessalonians 4:14 – For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Luke 23:43 – And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise

Ecclesiastes 12:7 – Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Romans 14:8 – For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s

Many of you may have just lost a loved one or facing death yourself, may you have the hope and peace in knowing that if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, death is just the beginning and you will live again.

Revelation 21:4 – And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

The new norm

A few months ago I never thought I would be shopping with gloves and a mask to protect myself from the Coronavirus but alot has changed. So many are infected with the virus, so many have lost their lives to it but God is in this with us. My Husband, Son and I read every night aloud Psalm 91 before our bible study. What great comfort.

“I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust . . . A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.”
Psalm 91:2, 7, KJV

Most places have shut down except for what is considered essential. So many including myself are not working due to companies are closed. I even seen pictures of places around the world that wild animals have taken over wandering the streets due to people are in lockdown mode.

With all that bad there is so much good coming from this too. I have seen the hardworking Doctors and nurses working tirelesly to help patients, seen people put on car parades for elderly people to celebrate a birthday, seen people donate time, money, food, and medical supplies to help each other. Families are sitting around the table again and talking. Churches are going live stream and my home church is even doing a drive up church service tomorrow. God is bringing good out of this bad. I know many souls will be turned to him also through this.

Take comfort in these scriptures from the Bible.

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Isaiah 41:10, KJV

“‭‭No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue ‭that‭ shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This ‭is‭ the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness ‭is‭ of me, saith the LORD.‭”
Isaiah 54:17, KJV

“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”
Proverbs 30:5, KJV

Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”
Psalm 55:22, KJV

“The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence . . . As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.”
2 Samuel 22:3, 31, KJV

The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”
Psalm 121:1-8, KJV

God is with us during this Coronavirus!

As I drive to work every day I notice empty restaurants that used to be packed. A few months ago people were eating, going to church, movies and work. Now that the Coronavirus has hit most everything is closed up due to the risk of the virus. At the beginning I was so scared when I heard on the news about how it was moving closer and closer to our state. How many people had been killed and how many were sick. I worried about my Husband’s health which he has heart disease and diabetes. I worried about my children even though they are grown. I worried about my elderly parents who I take care of every day and their poor health. I worried about all my family and friends. I worried about my own health which hasn’t been that great in the last few years from having lyme disease, Rocky mountain spotted fever, caught the flu last year, had shingles and nearly went blind from it a couple years ago. Diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year. My immune system is so weak and two weeks ago I had to miss four days of work and church from pollen allergies!! I worried about my patient also. Then I just gave it to God. All the worries, all the fears and the unknown. Still protecting ourselves from the virus and social distancing too. But the fear is gone. God tells us from his word

Romans 8:38

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,”Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Corinthians 12:9 – And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Psalms 23:4 – Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

John 16:33 – These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

James 1:12 – Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Hope these verses from God’s word can help you during this scary time in the world and to just know God is here with us through it all no matter how long this lasts.

Keep Smiling

I have had people ask me why am I so happy. I tell them it’s because of God. I have worries, trials, and problems like everyone but no matter what I am going through I keep a smile on my face.

Studies have shown that smiling releases endorphins, natural painkillers, and serotonin. Together these three neurotransmitters make us feel good from head to toe. Not only do these natural chemicals elevate your mood, but they also relax your body and reduce physical pain. So that is even more reason to keep that smile on your face.

God’s word tells us

Proverbs 28:14 Happy [is] the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

Psalms 37:4 – Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

I have ran into people that is angry, mad, and with a constant frown on their face. I used to be that person. God gives me joy in my heart that no matter what I am going through I know God is right there with me. He is there for us all. Let Jesus come into your life and fill your heart with so much joy that you can’t help but to let people see that joy. You never know how that smile can help someone.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

I always look upon everyone as my Brother and Sister in Christ. The bible tells us

Matthew 12:50 – For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

Romans 12:5 – So we, [being] many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
hath fulfilled the law.

1 John 4:20 – If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

I know it is hard to love that person that has done something to you hurtful but once we let go and forgive it is so much easier to do.

1 John 4:7 – Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

John 13:34 – A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Watch your tongue

I am sure one time or the other we have said something to someone that we wish we could of took back. Sometimes when we are angry or hurt we strike out at others with words that hurt them.

We may have been the the recipient of the angry words. I remember I was at a job one time and had been working hard on one of my assignments that day and a co worker just lashed out at me with hurtful words. It hurt my feelings and made me mad and I wanted to make a angry retort back but I didn’t. I realized later my coworker didnt feel well and she was sorry for the words she said.

The bible tells us in these verses,

1 Peter 3:10 – For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:

James 1:26 – If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion [is] vain.

Ephesians 4:29 – Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Proverbs 21:23 – Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.

James 3:8 – But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

I have heard of families and friends never speaking to each other after words were said in anger. Once those words leave our mouth we cannot get them back. We can just try to tell that person how sorry we are and ask their forgiveness.

I remember as a child the old childrens rhyme “Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me” The truth is when we grow up, names and ugly words can hurt us. May we always pray for God to guide us in the right things to say.

God will give you strength

Have you ever felt so tired and weak? I have had some difficult trials going on in the family the last couple of weeks. I found strength in my Father in Heaven.

Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
I find such encouragement in reading tthrough the bible and letting God speak to me through his word. It helped lift that weight off of me.

Psalms 31:24 – Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

Isaiah 40:31 – But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.

It’s such a comfort to know that no matter how tired and discouraged we are that God will be there for us.

Isaiah 41:10 – Fear thou not; for I [am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I [am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Matthew 11:28 – Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

The next time you are feeling weighed down by life just give it to God and he will give you that strength you need.
