If I May But Touch His Garment,I Shall Be Whole.

The story of the woman with the issue of blood is in all three gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke. Here is a woman who had gave everything she had to be healed of this issue of blood. She was none the better and only grew worse. Can you imagine having a disorder which caused you to bleed for twelve years? When you lose alot of blood it makes you weak. She is probably weak, tired, spent everything she had on trying to get well so she was also desperate. But also a woman with a issue of blood was considered unclean.

Leviticus 15:19-30 KJV

19 And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.

20 And every thing that she lieth upon in her separation shall be unclean: every thing also that she sitteth

She was probably a outsider and had not been hugged in twelve years. Then when she is healed and Jesus asks who touches him she falls down and confesses that it was her. He calls her “Daughter”. Can you imagine the warmth and love in his voice when he said that? She is the only one called Daughter in the New testament of the bible. She had not been able to come around people including her family and to be called Daughter by the King!! If you are feeling unloved today, or have something pressing upon you that you are desperate for a answer all you have to do is reach out to Jesus as this woman did.

Matthew 9:20-22 KJV

20 And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

21 For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.

22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Mark 5:25-34 KJV

25 And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

26 And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

27 When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Luke 8:43-48 KJV

43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,

44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.

47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace

Become As Little Children

As a child we are helpless and depend on our Parents. When I hurt myself as a child I trusted my Parents to help me if I was sick or cut my knee. Jesus tells us
Matthew 18:3 – And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

So what does that mean to become as little children? There are five things that we can do.

1. Joyfully- Children have a joyful spirit and we can have joy in our spirit in having faith in Christ.

2. Expectantly- We can come to our Father expecting rewards and blessings.

3.Trusting- Children trust their Parents. We as God’s children need to trust him in our life.

4. Innocence- Children have that innocence and we will never be perfect in life but we can come to him with pure innocence.

5.Humbleness- Children are humble. We need to humble ourselves before our Lord.

Matthew 19:14 – But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven

Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Matthew 21:16 – And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise

Proverbs 22:6 – Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Lost and Found

Have you ever lost something that you were so happy once you found it again? Do you remember how you felt once you were saved? That feeling of being lost but found. I love the story of the Prodigal Son.

Luke 15:11-32

11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:

12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found

The bible saids in

Luke 15:7

I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

Luke 15:10

10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Are you a Mary or a Martha?

Luke 10:38-42-

38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from

As I read this in my bible reading tonight it got me to thinking that sometimes we can be just like Martha when really we need to be like Mary.

Martha was irritated because she was doing all the serving and mad that Mary was not helping her. She even comes to Jesus to make him get Mary to help. The bible tell us that

John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Philippians 4:6 – Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

We put our careers, money, family, trouble and so much more before Jesus just like Martha did. We need to just put Jesus first. Mary was giving the Lord her attention and absorbing his word.

Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 22:37 – Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

There is none good but one

Why can’t people forgive like Jesus forgives? No one is good only God!! Why does people think they do no sin but others only sin? How can people judge others? Jesus said in

Matthew 7:5

“Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye

Matthew 19:17

17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Ephesians 4:32

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you

Romans 3:23

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

1 John 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Hebrews 10:26

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

New Year,New Goals but Same God

Today starts the New Year for us all. We were all ready to leave behind 2020 with all the bad things that came with it. Most people start the year off with new goals and new resolutions. Some wants to lose weight, save more money, new job and the list goes on. Have you ever started off the New Year with a goal but a few weeks in it just to break it? I know I have so many times. The one thing we know we have is our Father in Heaven. The bible tells us in Hebrews 13:8- “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” So as we go in this new year with new goals to accomplish and we happen to not reach them just remember Jesus is there and the same . Happy New Year everyone.

Exodus 40:2 – On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.

Zephaniah 3:17 – The LORD thy God in the midst of thee [is] mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end

Matthew 11:6 – And blessed is [he], whosoever shall not be offended in me.

Romans 14:11 – For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Best Christmas Present

Merry Christmas everyone! This year has been a hard one for many of us. Some of us have lost our loved ones this year, some has loved ones in the hospital, some lost their jobs and so many other terrible losses. I know and feel your pain. I lost my Parents this year, lost my job and so many other trials. One thing I didn’t lose was my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. As I was looking at my social media at the many families together with the children opening their gifts I was reminded of several Christmas mornings as a child we didnt have any gifts. As sad as it was for us I can’t imagine the pain it must of caused my Parents not being able to give their children anything. I know there are some that woke up just like that this morning. The true gift we can have is Christ and to trust in him. These trials will pass and will make you stronger. Here are some scriptures to comfort you.

Isaiah 9:6 – For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 1:14 – And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth

Matthew 2:11 – And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Thankful and Blessed

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! So many of us have had our big Thanksgiving meals with the family and just relaxing. I am so grateful for my God in Heaven who has blessed us in so much. I lost my Mother in April this year and just a few weeks ago lost my Dad. It has been sad but I am so blessed that I had that time with my Parents when I took care of them. I am blessed for my family. I am blessed that I have a Savior who died and shed his blood for me so that I will have eternal life. This year has been so hard on everyone with the Covid out there and so many things going on. God is still in control even when things seem to be falling apart around us.

Here are some scriptures from God’s word on being thankful.

Psalms 100:4 – Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name.

Colossians 4:2 – Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving

Psalms 30:12 – To the end that [my] glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

Psalms 106:1 – Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.

Ephesians 5:20 – Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

1 Thessalonians 5:18 – In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you

Change

Loving how the leaves are changing on my drive home and it  got me to thinking all the changes we go through in our life.  The good, the bad, the sad, and the hurtful changes.  No matter what changes Jesus never changes. Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever”

Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.

2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Malachi 3:6 KJV

For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Deuteronomy 31:8 KJV

And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

First Shall Be Last

Today I was at a store waiting in line and the person in front of me had so many items but I was waiting patiently. A long line was forming behind me and then a worker opened one right next to me and said ” I will take next in line”. Well that was me but before I could move over all the people who had been behind me got there. I was left still waiting in the same line watching everyone being checked out. Like in my school days in certain sports I was the last to be picked for the team. I was reminded of what Jesus said in the bible,

Matthew 20:16

So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
