Today as I studied the bible and prayed it was layed on my heart about being humble. So many of us lets pride get in the way of our hopes and dreams. It even affects how we treat each other. God tells us in His word how to be humble.

Genesis 3:19 KJV

¹⁹ In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Luke 14:8-10 KJV

⁸ When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;

⁹ And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.

¹⁰ But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.

1 Peter 5:6 – Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Philippians 2:3– Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.  

James 4:6 – But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Matthew 23:12 – And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

2 Chronicles 7:14 – If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2 Corinthians 11:30 – If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

Luke 18:9– And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:   

Ephesians 2:8 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:   

James 4:10 – Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

1 Peter 5:5 – Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Ephesians 4:2 – With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Proverbs 16:18 – Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Ephesians 4:31– Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:   

Micah 6:8 – He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Proverbs 11:2 – When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
